The Chief Executive Officer of Karid Oil and Gas Ltd, Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, popularly known as Oil Money, has initiated legal proceedings against influencer Blessing CEO, demanding a full refund of a ₦20 million donation following allegations of a fraudulent cancer appeal.

The demand comes amid a wave of scepticism surrounding Blessing CEO’s recent announcement that she is battling stage 4 cancer. The controversy deepened after a social media user, Miss Deborah Mbara, accused the influencer of forging medical reports by editing Mbara’s own documents to solicit funds.

Through a formal letter from his legal team shared on Instagram, Oil Money alleged that the donation was obtained under false pretences. The document issues a strict seven-day ultimatum to return the funds, warning that failure to comply will result in a report to law enforcement agencies and further litigation for damages and interest.

“Refund what’s owed,” Oil Money wrote in a blunt caption accompanying the legal papers. “Refund my 20 million naira ASAP before it’s too late for you.”

The influencer had previously shared emotional videos of herself shaving her head and claiming to sell her properties to fund treatment, leading to significant public donations. However, her inability to provide clear answers during a recent live session with lawyer-critics has fueled public demand for transparency.
