Ojo Ale Spotlight Plights Of Older Nollywood Veterans

Actor and Filmmaker, Doyin Amodu’s latest project Ojo Ale is highlighting the plights and experiences of older Yoruba and Nollywood veterans, who are often out of work and languishing in poverty in their twilight years.

Translated as Hope At Twilight, Ojo Ale, Amodu said is inspired by her passion to lift hearts and put smiles on hungry mouths. It serves as a poignant exploration of their journeys, struggles, and the enduring hope that sustains these veteran actors in their old age. 

Directed and produced by Amodu, the film cast consists of nonagenarians, Charles Olumo; Adebayo Salami, Ajere, Samson Folarin (Baba Kukute), Tubosun Odunsi, Ebun Oloyede among others.

“This initiative is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of elderly Nollywood veterans by tackling the issue of poverty within this community. It’s a project close to my heart. Ultimately, Ojo Ale seeks to evoke empathy and inspire action; encouraging viewers to consider the well-being of these unsung heroes and motivating them to get involved in initiatives like Hope At Twilight project.”

The mother of four and President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), UK Chapter, is a graduate of Film Studies, London South Bank University, has acted in several projects notably, Musical Chairs, Forever Mine and Shadow Parties.
