Okere Re-Elected Chairman African Instituted Churches In Bauchi

One of the blocs under the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Nigeria Region, Bauchi State chapter, has re-elected Evangelist Emmanuel Okere as its chairman for another four-year term.

Okere and other members of the executive emerged unopposed during an election conducted yesterday at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC), Yandoka Road, Bauchi.

Other members of the executive elected unopposed are Apostle Kayode Ojo, vice chairman 1; Senior Apostle C.O. Chukwu, vice chairman 2; and Apostle Joseph Fayomi, secretary.

Others are Elder (Engr) Steve Orji, assistant secretary; Elder Uche Ezeh, treasurer; Prophet Kayode Samuel, financial secretary; Evangelist A.O. Obasi, public relations officer; and Prophet Mike Ezengo, welfare officer.

Speaking after his re-election, Okere pledged the commitment of the new executive to achieving significant milestones and making meaningful contributions to the growth and development of the organisation.

He also promised that the executive would continue to represent the Christian community with dignity in Bauchi State and the country at large.

The chairman expressed appreciation to members of the bloc for their continued support, selflessness and steadfast commitment to peace and progress despite the challenges faced by the organisation in recent times.

Okere said the new executive was filled with renewed hope and determination to build on its achievements and make greater impact during its new tenure.

He expressed appreciation to the OAIC leadership, particularly the Regional President, Bishop Dr. R.B.C. Nwankwo; Special Apostle Pastor Solomon Ayanwale; and Special Apostle John Adedigba, Northeast Zonal Chairman and General Secretary respectively, for giving them the opportunity to serve.

The re-elected chairman also commended the Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, for his commitment to peace and tranquility in the state.

He expressed the Christian community’s gratitude to the governor for what he described as his kindness and love towards Christians in the state.

Okere prayed for God’s continued guidance and wisdom for the governor, popularly known as ‘Mr Project’, and wished him success in his future political endeavours.

In his remarks, the returning officer, Bishop R.B.C. Nwankwo, congratulated the newly elected executive members and urged them to work together towards achieving the vision of the organisation.
