Deputy senate president, Barr Ovie Omo-Agege, former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, incumbent governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday, set aside their political differences to attend the first anniversary thanksgivings service of HM, Ogiame Atuwatsa 111, the Olu of Warri.
Others at the thanksgiving were speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DSHA) Hon Sheriff Oborovweri, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, Gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic party (SDP) Chief Great Ogboru, gubernatorial candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Senator James Manager.
The Dein of Agbor, Benjamin Ikenchukwu, Keagborekuzi 1 and other traditional rulers attended the event.
In his sermon, guest speaker, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor said we have a problem in Nigeria, until we learn to de-emphasize the essence of money in the country, lamenting that here everything is about money.
He said, “too much emphasis on money is bad. There is time to receive money and time not to receive it. Money can buy car, build good houses, but cannot provide security. Money can provide good medicare but cannot guarantee good health.”
The former president, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) while saying one year is just like yesterday, said thanksgiving brings creatures into the presence of God, quoted from Psalm 100:4, Corinthians 4:17, Ecclesiastes 7:12, 1 King 28:31 and others said prayer is not complete without thanksgiving.
Pleading with politicians to help bring back the dignity of labours especially when youths have abandon those things with dignity, “l see the reign coming, the reign of development, reign of greatness, reign of prosperity. As we give thanks, don’t stop to give thanks, it brings lots of prosperity and makes a lot to happen” Oritsejafor stated.
Prayers were offered by Chief Brown Mene, Rev Wilson Ofoluwafor and Rev E. Gbiaye for the Olu of Warri, Warri Kingdom and Delta State respectively.
There was praise worship by Iwere praise choir, royal lwere choir, ltsekiri scripture reading and others showcasing the ltsekiri rich culture.
