The executive assistant on Orientation and Communication to Delta State governor, Barr Fred Latimore has said the decision of the embattled Ewu monarch to surrender himself promptly to the military authorities for interrogation was a mark of patriotism.
He stated this as a guest of News Central Television station in Lagos, saying the monarch’s conduct, actions and inactions are commendable.

Oghenesivbe, who is also the Head of Delta State Orientation Bureau however appealed to the military not to punish innocent people in Okuama community and environs for the crime they did not commit.
“The traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Clement Ikolo, did well by presenting himself to the military for interrogation in the ongoing investigation. His conduct, actions and inactions are commendable.

“It is hoped that Okuama community will bounce back in the near future”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Traditional Council of Chiefs, Ewu-Urhobo in Delta State, has called for the immediate release of the detained monarch, Clement Ikolo.
According to a terse statement by them “His Majesty is in no way associated with the ongoing feud between Okoloba and Okuama communities, let alone the tragic killing of military personnel.

“Our monarch, His Royal Majesty Ovie Clement Oghenerukevwe lkolo, the Urhukpe 1, is a peace-loving man who has diligently sought to reconcile the factions within our kingdom since his ascension to the throne four months ago.
“He has not set foot in Okuama community, nor has he visited Ewu, the headquarters of our kingdom, to engage in his royal duties,” the statement added.
