Accord Party chieftain, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has emerged as the party’s candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general election in Osun State.

Olajengbesi, who also serves as spokesman of the Imole Campaign Council backing the re-election of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, was presented with his Certificate of Return on Friday in Osun State in the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The lawyer and political mobiliser said his ambition is aimed at ending what he described as decades of ineffective representation in the constituency.

He specifically vowed to unseat the current lawmaker representing the constituency, Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has occupied the seat since 2003.

Speaking after receiving the certificate, Olajengbesi said the constituency needed a new direction driven by younger leaders and fresh ideas.

According to him, the constituency has remained stagnant because of repeated recycling of leadership and political ideas since the beginning of the Fourth Republic.

The Ijebu-Ijesa-born politician from Oriade local government area in Osun State previously contested for the same seat in 2019.

“This moment is one of gratitude, humility and renewed commitment to the service of our people,” he said.

Olajengbesi thanked party leaders, supporters and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, describing the Certificate of Return as a symbol of responsibility and service.

“The work begins now. With unity, dedication and the support of our people, we will work towards a future that reflects the hopes and aspirations of every community across Oriade and Obokun federal constituency,” he added.
