The royal couple was warmly received by the Paramount Chief, Osabarimba Dr. Kwesi Atta Il and the Paramount Queen Mother, Nana Ekua Abookyi VI. The visit was marked by a grand ceremony, complete with drums, songs and dance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region.

In his address, the paramount chief emphasised the importance of preserving their shared African heritage and the sacred duty of leadership in upholding it.

The Olu of Warri, in his remarks, called for unity and resilience, stressing that their true strength lied in solidarity and shared purpose.

He said, “We are first Africans, bound by history and destiny beyond borders. His call was for unity and resilience, a reminder that our true strength rests in solidarity and shared purpose.”

He presented a Red Boat to the paramount chief, which embodies heritage, identity, and resilience for the Itsekiri people.

The boat’s presence in Cape Coast serves as a bridge between their kingdoms and a testament to the alliance they aim to build across Africa.
