Eighteen months after he disrobed Chief Ayiri Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri, the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiamé Atuwatse III, has installed his successor. He is Chief Oma Eyewuoma. The event was held on Sunday and was well attended by prominent indigenes of Itsekiri.

Prior to his new title, Eyewuoma was the Aboludero of Warri Kingdom. Before the installation, the Warri monarch had collected the symbols of the Ologbotsere title (bead and sword) from Emami.

The ceremony which took place at the palace of the Olu had in attendance palace chiefs, the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Mr Ayiri Emami and other notable sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom. The Aghofen Hall was filled to capacity as everyone was curious about the agenda of the meeting.

The Warri monarch on his verified Instagram handle noted that as a father to all used the occasion to offer forgiveness to erring subjects and stressed that “forgiveness and reconciliation are virtues that have the potential of making us stronger as people and as a kingdom.”

He also reminded his subjects that the conferment of chieftaincy titles is the prerogative of the Olu.

The monarch had on October 5, 2021 announced the disrobing of Emami, at a ceremony held in his palace. The pronouncement had since put an abrupt end to Ayiri’s reign as Ologbotsere in Warri Kingdom.
