The recently held Launch24 Conference, hosted by Rare Magic Academy and convened by renowned photographer Oluseyi Adegeye Magic, has left a resounding impact on the African photography community.

The conference, which held October 25, at The Zone, Gbagada, Lagos was a beacon of inspiration, education, and empowerment for photographers across the continent.

The Marketing and Communications Consultant, Rare Magic Academy, Dare Anjorin in his welcome address explained that the Academy is a photography academy with the sole vision of helping African photographers achieve exponential growth through creation of consistent free webinars, tutorials, online courses, workshops, and podcasts.

Dare disclosed that barely seven months ago that the Academy was launched in March, 2023, the academy has positively affected the craft of African Photographers in countries like Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Malawi, Tanzania, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Sierra Leone, Uganda, South-Africa, United Kingdom, United State of America, Canada, France and Nigeria with over 10,000 active African photographers in its community.

He, however, disclosed that the academy is about to launch its physical photography class and urged the attendees to be on the lookout.

Meanwhile, Oluseyi Magic’s dedication to the art form and his desire to give back to the community was evident throughout the conference.

His lecture set the tone of the conference for other speakers, where he spoke on the psychology of building a successful photography business.

He explained the need for photographers to separate themselves from their business and the importance of having the right mindset to take their business to the next level, stressing that “the only limitation that you can have as a creative is the limitation you put on yourself.”

Oluseyi Magic went further to discuss the three important factors needed to develop the psychology of a photographer which are knowledge, association and exposure, while disclosing that product (the photograph you shoot), branding (personality) and system are the three ingredients needed to build a successful business as a photographer.
