The South West caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged members and executives of the party in Oyo State to uphold the spirit of unity and togetherness in honour of their late chairman, Hon Isaac Omodewu, who died recently.
The APC national vice chairman (South West), Hon Isaac Kekemeke, gave the charge when he led zonal executives of the party on a condolence visit to the Oyo State chapter over the demise of Omodewu.
While expressing shock over the passing of the party chairman, he charged members to be strong and continue the strive to make the party gain its rightful position in the state.
In his condolence message, Kekemeke described the late Omodewu as a committed, dedicated and passionate party leader.
“The news of the death of one of us, South West Caucus of the APC, came to us as a rude shock. We are in touch with him frequently but he never showed any sign of weakness; he looked and sounded strong.
“He was such a committed, dedicated and passionate party leader. He was a generous man with a large heart and steadfast in the leadership of our party. He loved his people and spoke for his people. He is a huge loss to South West APC.
“I want to implore all the members and executives of the party in Oyo State to take heart. It was sad, which we can see in every individual’s disposition. Don’t let it weigh you down; be strong and continue to strive for the betterment of the party.
“We commiserate with the immediate family of the deceased, members of the party in Oyo State, South West zone and Nigeria. We pray that God would condole and console the family of the deceased, the APC family in the state and the South West Zone,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the APC executives in Oyo State, the secretary of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, who represented the deputy chairman, Alhaji Olaide Abbas, thanked the delegation for the condolence visit.
