LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that those arrested with the AAC governorship candidate include Patrick Owolabi, a member of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement; Oluwatobi Akinkuotu, Kolawole Kumuyi, Olalekan Oladehinde and others.

The arrests occurred in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during the grand finale of the nationwide protest against hunger, hardship and poor governance, known as #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.

The TIB Movement has condemned the action of the police and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Ajayi and Owolabi.

In a Twitter post, the TIB movement wrote:

“It’s unfortunate that the @PoliceNG is yet to learn. The continued clampdown on peaceful #EndBadGovernceInNigeria protesters is a total shame,” it said.

We condemn the unlawful arrest of Ajayi Wizeman & Patrick Owolabi in Ondo state and we demand their immediate and unconditional release.”

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to get the reaction of the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, were not successful.
