Ahead of the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed its primary election for April 25, 2024 while appeals from the outcome of the exercise has been scheduled for the day after on April 26.
APC announced this in a notice on its official X handle (formerly Twitter) as signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungun, Monday night.
According to the notice, sale of the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms priced at N50 million would commence on April 3 and end April 10.
The Expression of Interest form is pegged at N10 million while each aspirant is expected to obtain the Nomination Form at the rate of N40 million.
Female aspirants and persons with disabilities interested in the contest are to purchase the Expression of Interest form only as the nomination form is free for them.
The ruling party in Ondo State said its decision was in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022, as amended, and relevant sections of the Constitution.
“In compliance with the relevant sections of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Electoral Act 2022, the APC hereby makes public its timetable and schedule of activities leading to the 16th November, 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo state as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,” the notice reads.
