The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has produced candidates for the forthcoming House of Assembly elections following primary polls conducted across constituencies in Akure North and Akure South.

In Akure North Constituency, Tomisin Edu Falade emerged victorious after polling 8,700 votes to defeat Oluwole Samuel Fanibuyan, who secured 651 votes, while incumbent lawmaker Kolawole Ologede polled 199 votes.

Falade’s victory was confirmed after the collation of results at the end of the primary exercise, which recorded significant participation by party members across wards in the constituency.

Reacting to her emergence, Falade described the exercise as peaceful and credible, expressing appreciation to party faithful for their turnout and support during the voting process.

“This election was peaceful and truly reflected the will of the people. I am grateful to God and to our party members for the confidence reposed in me,” she said.

Falade also appealed for unity within the party, urging other aspirants who lost in the contest to work together in strengthening the APC ahead of future elections, while commending the state party leadership.

In Akure South Constituency I, Adeola Fynch emerged as the APC candidate after a keenly contested primary election.

Expressing gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in her, Fynch said: “I am deeply honoured by this victory. I thank all party members and constituents for believing in me. I will not disappoint them.”

She described her emergence as a call to service and pledged to prioritise quality representation and grassroots development if elected into the Ondo State House of Assembly.

In Akure South Constituency II, incumbent lawmaker Stephen Abitogun secured the party’s ticket, returning as the APC candidate following what party officials described as a peaceful primary exercise.

Abitogun commended the conduct of the exercise and lauded party leaders and stakeholders for ensuring unity and order during the process, noting that the outcome reflected strong internal cohesion within the party.

“This victory is a collective one. I appreciate our leaders and members for their support. Together, we will continue to strengthen our party and deliver more dividends of democracy,” he said.

He also expressed confidence in the leadership of Lucky Aiyedatiwa, stating that the peaceful conduct of the primaries demonstrated the party’s readiness for electoral success in 2027.

Party leaders across the constituencies called for continued reconciliation among aspirants and supporters, urging members to close ranks and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
