The disappearance of the two students who are both second-years undergraduates have thrown their colleagues and the university community into confusion.

Okah is a student in the institution’s Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Arts while Abba is studying Agric Economics in the Faculty of Agriculture.

According to one of their colleagues who identified himself as Ajibola, the whereabouts of their colleagues have been unknown for over two weeks, causing concerns among their peers.

Ajibola told journalists on Tuesday that the two students have not attended classes or participated in any academic activities for within the period.

He added that attempts to reach them by phone have been unsuccessful.

He said, “For over two weeks now, they have been missing from school and academic activities. We have searched everywhere but cannot find them. We are worried about their safety.

“We don’t know if they were kidnapped or if something else happened. They are very close friends. Our efforts to contact them by phone have failed repeatedly, and their sudden disappearance is alarming.

“We have reported the matter to the school management and the police, but so far, we have not received the help we need. The authorities have only told us to remain calm and suggested they might have gone on vacation. However, the student community is worried and agitated,” Ajibola said.

LEADERSHIP learnt that the families of the missing students were also making efforts to look for them and have reported the case to law enforcement agencies.

When contacted, Head of Information, Protocol and Public Relations at AAUA, Mr. Victor Akinpelu, declined to comment.

However, an anonymous source within the said, “The university is aware of the case, but there are many suspicious activities involving some students on campus. We are working with the police to uncover why it happened, especially since their classmates are also suspicious about their disappearance.”

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ondo State, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the case was reported and under investigation.

He said, “The case is under investigation. That is all I can say for now.”
