Okafor, a factional chairman, said that the Labour Party candidate, Olumide Akpata, represents a new hope for the Edo people.

In a statement he signed, Okafor said the country is going through a different phase, adding that only the Labour Party can bring it out of it.

“Beloved people of Edo State, the situation in the country and Edo State in particular calls for a massive shift from what we are used to doing to a different phase.

“The only party that guarantees sustainable solutions for our people’s problems is the Labour Party.

“I therefore call on all Edo people to step out en masse on Saturday, 21st September 2024 and vote for the Labour Party and our candidate, Barr Olumide Akpata. A New Edo is Possible,” he said.

He also said, “Labour Party remains one indivisible entity, irrespective of the internal crisis now, which will be resolved soon. Together, we shall win and start to change the state for the good of the people. Vote Mama Papa Pikin on Saturday, 21st September 2024.”
