Former secretary to the Katsina State government, Mustapha Inuwa, has declared that only a mega party can defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Inuwa, who was the state director general of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, while interacting with journalists in Katsina State, said the current crisis-ridden PDP cannot defeat the APC in 2027.

He said “the Mega Party is the only hope to unseat the APC and bring about the change Nigerians are yearning for.”

Inuwa attributed the need for a new party to the hardships and food shortages inflicted on Nigerians by the APC government, coupled with the insecurity bedevilling the North West and Katsina in particular.

Reacting to the ongoing leadership tussle in PDP in the state, he said the court will uphold the rights of the authentic party officials and nullify the “kangaroo” congress conducted by the Lado Danmake faction.

Inuwa’s declaration is seen as a significant development in the political landscape of Katsina State, as the mega party gains momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

Recall that at the weekend, the PDP in Katsina State held the state congress where new party officials were elected under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), despite the ongoing litigation in Katsina court.
