Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is reportedly on the brink of a permanent transfer to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that discussions are at an advanced stage, with Trabzonspor willing to pay €5 million for the 31-year-old, significantly less than the €18 million Southampton paid to acquire him from KRC Genk in January 2023.

Trabzonspor President Ertugal Dogan confirmed the ongoing talks, stating, “Paul Onuachu is on our transfer agenda. We continue to negotiate and hopefully we will reach an agreement soon.”

Last season, Onuachu proved his worth during a loan spell at Trabzonspor, scoring 15 goals in 21 league appearances. Following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, his return to Turkey appears imminent, having only registered four goals and one assist in 25 appearances for the Saints last season.
