Ahead of the 2027 general election, thousands of members of opposition political parties rhave decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sule Tankarkar, Taura and Babura local government areas of Jigawa State.
The state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, received the defectors on two separate occasions—one held in Taura local government area and the other at the Government House, Dutse
In his address while receiving the defectors at the Dutse Government House, Governor Namadi expressed delight at how supporters are trooping into the APC after abandoning their party, in which they had spent over two decades.
“People of integrity, people who have the spirit of Jigawa State in their minds, are now rushing to join the APC, aiming not to allow themselves to be left out of the ongoing transformation taking place in the state under the APC government. They are joining the party to contribute their own quota. This shows clearly that we are on the right track.
“Together we can build a prosperous and great Jigawa State. Therefore, we always welcome anyone who wants to join hands with us to work towards achieving the desired goals in accordance with the APC manifesto and our 12-point agenda,” Governor Namadi stated.
Speaking on the political development, the state chairman of APC, Hon. Ahmad Maikudi, promised to provide an enabling environment for the old and new members to contribute to party’s success at all levels.
