Chairman of the Searite Group, Chief Chibuzor Oraeto, says the company has entered the biscuit manufacturing sector as part of its strategy to diversify operations and strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s food industry.
In a telephone interview, Oraeto said the move followed years of activity in mining, real estate and shipping. He explained that the company is now focusing on producing biscuits that meet quality and nutritional standards. The new biscuit brand, Fadaella, he noted, is targeted at families and young consumers.
Oraeto said the idea for the brand was inspired by his children, adding that the name Fadaella is a combination of their names. He said his travels to over 40 countries shaped his insistence on quality and international standards across all Searite products.
He recalled that the company’s earlier ventures, including its oatmilk brand produced in partnership with his in-laws in China, recorded significant success and acceptance. This, he said, encouraged the launch of other products such as lollipops and Fadaella Best Chocs.
Following positive consumer feedback, Oraeto disclosed that the company is expanding its product line to include crackers and additional biscuit varieties designed to meet the nutritional and taste preferences of Nigerians.
He also announced plans to establish a modern biscuit factory in Anambra State, adding that the company has already acquired a large expanse of land for the project, which will commence soon. According to him, the factory will create jobs for young people in the state, strengthen local manufacturing and contribute to economic growth.
