The Oriyomi Hamzat Fans in the United States and Canada have commiserated with the families of the victims in the stampede that occurred on December 18th, 2024, that left about 35 children dead and others injured.

The group called for understanding in the administration of justice and equity and lauded the general public for their love and prayers for Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, which they displayed during a recent peaceful demonstration held at Ibadan for the release of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and others in custody.

The Oriyomi Hamzat fans stated that as the law enforcement agents continue their statutory work, they seek the release of the benevolent philanthropist Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and others in continued detention, knowing fully that they are not the direct cause of the stampede in Ibadan but had good intentions to put smiles on hundreds of families during last year’s Yuletide season.

The group, in a statement released by the two coordinators of the Oriyomi Hamzat Fans USA and Canada, added that the judicial system and Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat should exercise due diligence, and others should not be unnecessarily punished for their good intentions and heart of kindness even as the law continues to take its course.

“The fans of Oriyomi Hamzat US and Canada Chapter recognise that it is such a tragedy for the nation and the residents of Oyo State to lose such young children who have their future before them.
