Osun 2022: PDP Raises The Alarm Over Influx Of Thugs

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised the alarm over alleged influx of armed men and women whose sole goal is to violently disrupt peaceful conduct of the election.

A statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by the party caretaker committee chairman, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, stated that it was already in public domain that thugs imported from Lagos are already lodged at various hotels in Osun state.

Adekunle charged the newly deployed Police Commissioner and the Deputy Inspector General’s of Police posted to Osun state to take note and urgently act to arrest the situation.

“We repeat the call of our governorship candidate for an urgent review of security architecture for the election. We call on the security agencies to conduct security audits and mapping of the state before Saturday elections.

“If various appeals from well meaning stakeholders are not acted upon, the authorities should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in Osun state”.

Meanwhile, the Accord Party governorship candidate, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi has condemned the attack on the residence of the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Hon. Lasun Yussuff in the early hours of Monday.
