Osun 2026: Atiku Says Adeleke’s Re-Election Shows People’s Choice

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State, saying his victory reflected the choice of the people as expressed at the ballot box.

Atiku, in a post shared on his X handle on Sunday, said the outcome of the election demonstrated the will of Osun residents.

“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State. His victory demonstrates the choice of the people of Osun as expressed at the ballot box,” Atiku said.

He commended the people of the state for their peaceful participation in the election and wished Adeleke success in his second term.

“I commend the people for their passion and peaceful participation. I wish Governor Adeleke continued success as he continues to serve them,” he added.

Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, was on Sunday declared the winner of the governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
