As the race for governorship election gathers momentum in Osun State, ex-governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Omooba Dotun Babayemi on Saturday met with the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that Babayemi defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state following alleged marginalisation by the leadership of the party, among others.
Declaring his gubernatorial aspiration at a meeting with the members of the APC State Working Committee led by the chairman, Mr Tajudeen Lawal in Osogbo recently, Babayemi pledged not to let the party down if elected as governor of the state.
Speaking with journalists shortly after his meeting with the APC leaders, he told them that he was at the party secretariat to consult the party leadership on his intention.
Babayemi who contended that government is real business said there is the need for better hands to manage the affairs of Osun State.
In his response, Osun APC chairman, Hon Tajudeen Lawal appealed to all intending aspirants for the position to be decent in their conducts and uphold the spirit of unity and avoid issues that could hinder the party’s victory at the poll.
Babayemi’s presence at the party secretariat attracted stalwarts of the party across the state and thousands of party members across senatorial districts in the state.
