Osun 2026: Group Endorses Adeleke’s Re-election Bid

A non-governmental organisation, Mission 90 Million Congress of Nigeria has endorsed Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The group announced its position at a meeting of its Osun State coordinators held in Lagos, where its national leadership commended what it described as Governor Adeleke’s people-centred governance style and tangible achievements across critical sectors of the state’s economy.

Speaking at the gathering, the President of the organisation, Comrade Sunday Adebisi, alongside the General Secretary, Alhaji Moruf Akinola, and the Osun State Women Leader, Chief Mrs Oyeyemi Funke, urged members of the group to mobilise widespread support for the governor across Osun State and among indigenes resident outside the state.

Comrade Adebisi highlighted what he described as significant infrastructural strides under the Adeleke administration, including extensive road construction, provision of boreholes, and community-based development projects.

He also praised the state government’s commitment to workers and pensioners, citing the prompt payment of salaries and pensions as a significant boost to public sector morale.

According to him, the administration’s social intervention programmes, such as grants and business support schemes, have helped stimulate grassroots economic activity. In contrast, reforms in the health sector, including free surgical interventions and the introduction of a health insurance scheme for pensioners, have expanded access to quality healthcare.

The group further noted the governor’s investments in agriculture, as well as efforts at reducing the state’s debt profile, describing them as indicators of responsible and sustainable governance.

The Mission 90 Million Congress stated that its endorsement was guided by performance rather than partisan considerations, emphasising that as a political NGO, it supports policies and leadership that promote inclusive development and economic growth for citizens, regardless of party affiliation.

“Our mandate as an organisation is not only to challenge unfavourable policies, but also to support and defend governance initiatives that deliver real benefits to the people,” the group stated, adding that Governor Adeleke’s performance since assuming office on November 27, 2022, had earned him its full backing.

The organisation pledged to deploy its nationwide membership network to sensitise residents and indigenes of Osun State on what it described as the governor’s impressive record.

He urged the electorate to reject misinformation from political opponents.

Reaffirming its confidence in the Adeleke administration, the group said it remained committed to ensuring the governor’s re-election in 2026, describing his leadership as transformative for Osun State.
