As political parties race to occupy Bola Ige House, gathering momentum, the Osun state chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has again reinstated its resolve to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come 2026.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Osogbo, the state chairman of the party, Dr Tosin Odeyemi, having realised the herculean task involved, canvassed for a coalition among the political parties in the state to oust Adeleke in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

Odeyemi said his party observed that no individual or political party can win the forthcoming election without the joint efforts of others.

He noted that the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun is crucial as the state has never had it so bad since its creation.

According to him, propaganda has taken over governance in Osun State, and no elder statesman is bold enough to challenge the sitting governor.

His words: “The 2026 gubernatorial election is crucial to us in Osun. Findings have revealed that no party or individual can win the forthcoming election without a joint effort, and that’s why NNPP will field or support any candidate with integrity to unseat Adeleke.

“If such individuals who cut across opposition parties in the state clinch the ticket, I can boldly say that 40 per cent of votes will come from PDP, bringing parties and voters together to speak with their votes.

“Our common focus is rescuing the state from the present occupiers. Fortunately, many people are now realising that politics goes beyond propaganda, abandoning their parochial party for other parties in the state”, Odeyemi posited.
