Osun Assembly Passes Electricity Bill

Lawmakers have passed the Electricity Bill 2025 to facilitate the establishment of the Electricity Regulatory Commission in Osun State.

The executive bill was passed following its third reading during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun.

The House majority leader Hon. Kofoworola Adewunmi initiated the motion for the bill’s third reading after the Committee on Water Resources and Energy, represented by Hon. Taofiq Olayiwola, presented its report.

The House also approved the amendments to the Osun State Customary Courts of Appeal and the Osun State District Customary Courts.

The motions, seconded by Hon. Tajudeen Adeyemi, Hon. Sikiru Bajepade, and Hon. Folorunsho Ogundare, received unanimous support during a voice vote conducted by the speaker.
