Osun State government has debunked the allegation of re-bagging the federal palliatives rice levelled against it by the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the rebuttal by the commissioner for information and public enlightenment, Mr Kolapo Alimi, who said there was no truth in the allegation, declared that it is another manifestation of the opposition’s desperation.
The commissioner said the federal rice palliatives were just coming into the state and none of it was rebagged, adding that the delivery had continued.
“The government has already activated its structure for the sharing of the federal palliatives to reach all strata of the society.
“The government however deem the supply from the central government insufficient, hence its decision to buy more trucks of rice for distribution to the population.
“Rice purchased by the state which are also being delivered are however branded and they are also due for sharing very soon. What is branded are the state’s rice, not federal palliatives, the delivery of which is still ongoing,” Alimi posited.
The APC in Osun through its chairman had accused the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration of engaging in subterfuge to explain away the issue surrounding its concealment, re-bagging and rebranding of the federal government palliatives.
