Osun Development Association (ODA) has mourned the passing of Lt-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff.
The group commiserated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the deceased’s family over the sad incident.
ODA said Lagbaja’s life was dedicated to the service and security of Nigeria.
The association’s chairman, Dr Segun Aina, issued a statement yesterday extending the members’ profound condolences to Tinubu, the Armed Forces, and Gen. Lagbaja’s family.
Aina said Lagbaja’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability left an inspiring legacy that would be remembered for generations.
He said the late COAS’ contributions to “Nigeria’s unity and safety resonate strongly with the Osun community and beyond. His leadership, courage, and dedication exemplified the highest standards of military service, and his efforts to safeguard national security were invaluable to the progress of our country. His absence is a profound loss for all Nigerians.”
Aina said that in this moment of grief, ODA stands united with the nation in honouring his legacy and offering prayers and support to his loved ones, colleagues, and all affected by the tragedy.
