The chief registrar of the Osun State High Court, F. I. Omisade and the Ilesha Branch ot the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) have condemned a viral story on social media that a magistrate in one of the state’s courts awarded a N150,000 cost against a lady for failing to show up after her boyfriend invited and paid her transport fare.

The condemnation came from. Omisade after the judiciary presented the list of its magistrates to LEADERSHIP Sunday during our correspondent’s investigation of the controversial report.
The list showed that both the court and the name of the chief magistrate who allegedly gave the order do not exist in the state.

Consequently, the registrar issued an official statement and described the story as fake and disturbing.
In the report, a magistrate in the state was reported to have awarded the sum of N150,000 cost against one Rodah Adu for failing to visit her boyfriend Olapitan Sola after she had received N3,000 transport fare from him.

The report went viral on social media last week making tongues wag over the judgement.
While refuting the story, the chief registrar said there was no magistrate known as Akogun Oludare in

Osun State Judiciary, adding that no magistrate in Osun State ever gave such an order.
In its reaction, the Ilesa Branch of NBA described the report as false and misleading.

The NBA stated that “this story is completely unfounded and has no basis in fact. There is no magistrate in Ilesa going by the name Magistrate Akogun Oludare neither has there been any matter of such nature in the Magistrate Court, Ilesa.
