Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare has vowed to conduct his campaign within the framework of the law.
Addressing newsmen in Gusau, Dare said PDP in the state would continue to be law abiding in all its dealings within the campaign period.
He stated that, before he travelled to Gusau, Zamfara State capital, he wrote official letters to the security offices intimating them about their campaigns but on Friday night a letter signed by commissioner for information was served to him on the ban of political rallies.
“We at PDP are operating within the context of the law, so such letter would not stop us from carrying out political rally”, he added. Dare alleged that APC planted thugs at different locations to attack their convoy right from Lalan area.
“We are shocked that supporters of the ruling party were attacking the opposition, destroying and burning our properties”, he alleged.
The PDP governorship candidate, however, said PDP has been respecting government directives and laws all this while. He advised PDP supporters to remain calm and abide by campaign laws and regulations.
