The victim, Sai’d Abdulkadir, a 400-level Agricultural Science student, was shot dead after the commercial motorcyclist transporting him allegedly refused to stop at a checkpoint mounted by the vigilantes.FUDMA Students Protest Killing Of Colleague By Vigilantes

“The vigilantes opened fire when the rider failed to stop, but tragically, it was Sa’id who was hit,” a student leader disclosed, adding that the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

Enraged by the killing, FUDMA students mobilised in large numbers and blocked the Dutsin-Ma–Katsina highway while chanting slogans, demanding justice for their slain colleague.
