Over 1,000 persons in Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency have benefitted from a three-day free medical and surgical medical outreach in the constituency.

The outreach was sponsored by the member representing the constituency, Ibe Okwara Osonwa, in collaboration with Ibe Okwara Osonwa Foundation and the Abia State Ministry of Health.

While monitoring the outreach, the state director of Public Health, Dr Princess Agomuo, told LEADERSHIP that it was well-coordinated and professionally executed.

The director also explained that it complied with the ministry’s quality assurance standards and expressed satisfaction with the quality of services rendered.

Agomuo also lauded Osonwa for his humanitarian services and the ministry for approving and providing the institutional support that ensured the successful execution of the outreach.

Contributing, Dr Francis Agu described the outreach as one of the largest community-based health care interventions ever undertaken simultaneously in the constituency.

Agu applauded the state governor, Dr Alex Otti, for transforming primary health care facilities across the state through the retrofitting and equipping of modern primary health care centers.

In their responses some of the beneficiaries, Felix Oji and Mrs. Gladys Kalu, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for the timely and life-changing intervention.

The outreach was conducted simultaneously at Ania Primary Health Centre, Akanu Ohafia, and Ndi Oji Abam in Ohafia and Arochukwu local government areas respectively.
