Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, said the first batch of beneficiaries of the state’s scholarship scheme will depart Nigeria in May this year.
Governor Nwifuru explained that out of 1000 beneficiaries, 300 will pursue their Masters and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in any country of their choice outside Nigeria, while 700 of them will do same in Nigerian universities.
He made the disclosure while swearing in special assistants, chairmen and members of reconstituted boards.
He said that the state is planning to establish 39 specialised schools adding that the idea is that the beneficiaries will be absorbed immediately after their graduation.
The governor reiterated his stance on delivering quality and effective democratic dividends for the greater good of all.
He urged the appointees to deploy their wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to bear in the discharge of their duties.
