Oyegun Heads ADC’s 50-member Manifesto, Policy Committee

Former national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun will lead a 50-member committee to design the manifesto and policy framework for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

While political economists, Professor Pat Utomi will serve as deputy chairman, former APC national vice chairman, Salihu Lukman will serve as secretary of the committee.

According to a statement by the national publicity secretary of ADC, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the committee named “Wise Men and Women” was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

He said the committee reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.

Abdullah said the committee is made up of distinguished Nigerians drawn from diverse backgrounds, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and professionals.

Besides Oyegun, Utomi and Lukman, other members are Sen. Gershon Bassey;  Sen. J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe; Amb Abiye Mohammed; H.E. Simon Achuba; Prof. Ibrahim Garba; Bala Usman; Bulus Bello Zaki Piko; Ose Anenih; Dr Nicholas Msheliza; Dr David Olofu; Dr Okey Ezegwu.

Others are Dr Mohammed Jibrin Yusufari; Joel Adi Gani; Prof. Jude Njoku; Miss Yemi Adamolekun; Prof. Anthony Kila; Nkovo Toyo; Dr Usman Bugaje; Oseloka Obaze; Dr Otive Igbuzor; Engr. Bello Suleiman; Prof. Chidi Odinkalu; AVM Sadique Abubakar; Madam Jumoke Olawuyi; Prof. Murtala Sagagi.

Others are Dr Kerian Wobodo; Dr Fatima Zara Saleh; Prof. Kolapo Eleka;  Barr Makber Oson Jacob; Prof. Remi Sonaiya; Moji Ajayi (Mrs); Prof. Sam Amadi; Dr Babayo Ardo; Pastor Funke Awowolo; Dr Ndubuisi Nwobu; Hon. Aminu Muhammad Gumel; Ngozi Ndukwe.

The rest are Prof. Doknan Disent Sheni; Prof. Saheed Malik; Dr Sunday Taiwako Anyabuga; Ms Helen Yashin; Dr John Markus Ayuba; Dr Chike Okogwu; Barr. (Mrs) Salametu A. Izuagie; Chief (Mrs) Uwaoma Olevengwa; Alhaja Hafsat Moji Bello; and Hon. Sani Yakubu Noma.

“Collectively, they represent a wealth of experience in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform.

“According to the party, the committee is tasked with articulating a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal,” he said.

The ADC spokesman, who said the committee will be inaugurated on February 2, 2026, party National Secretariat in Abuja, said the party believes “Nigeria’s challenges require ideas rooted in competence, integrity, and national consensus.”

 

 

He expressed confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that speaks to the real needs of Nigerians.
