A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Adesina, has said his ambition is to return the state to the party in 2027 and to improve residents’ welfare.

Adesina said his aspiration was rooted in progressive ideals centred on providing necessities for both the rich and the poor.

Speaking with journalists after submitting his nomination form yesterday, he pledged to prioritise stable electricity, quality education, healthcare delivery, water supply, and food security if elected governor.

He also promised to create jobs for youths and boost agricultural development across the state.

“Within the progressive camp, we believe that government must provide the essentials of life, not only for the well-to-do, but also for the less well-to-do,” he said.

The aspirant added that his administration would pursue an independent electricity supply to improve living conditions and economic activities.

“We will provide jobs for the youth and ensure that our people can eat three square meals without suffering. We will also ensure that schools provide quality education and that healthcare services are accessible to all,” he stated.

On the APC governorship ticket, Lamadishin expressed confidence in the party’s internal democratic process, saying candidates would emerge either through consensus or a primary election.

“There is an agreement that it is either we agree on consensus, or there is a primary. We will follow the laid-down process in Oyo State just like in other states,” he said.

He, however, urged members of the party in the state to remain united ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

“What I am saying to party men and women is that we need to work together, irrespective of the candidate they support. At the end of the primary exercise, we must unite and return Oyo State to the APC,” he added.
