Oyo State government has flagged off the disbursement of students’ relief loan to about 96 indigene of Iresa Adu in Surulere local government area of the state.

The first phase of the interest-free loan disbursement was held at the Iresa Adu Town Hall, Iresa Adu, and was designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The state commissioner for youth and sports, Wasilat Adegoke, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde, flagged off the disbursement by presenting symbolic cheques to the first set of beneficiaries.

The commissioner, accompanied by the permanent secretary, Oladipo Ajoke and other top government functionaries, who commended the pioneer of the loan relief, added that the gesture was in line with Makinde’s sustainable development agenda for education in the state.

He said, “While congratulating the first set of beneficiaries of this remarkable gesture that clearly shows that privileged individuals are already keying into the vision of Governor Makinde towards creating access to quality education, I must commend Adebayo for this exceptional foresight and committal of his personal resources through his foundation to the education advancement of these young undergraduates who are no doubt leaders of tomorrow.
