Sonubi was until his recent elevation, in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Iyaganku, Oyo State Police Command as the deputy commissioner of police and succeeded the former commissioner, Mr Adebola Hamzat.

Briefing newsmen at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan at the weekend, Sonubi said he recognised the immense contributions and professional policing principles adopted by his predecessor who has been redeployed to the Counter Terrorism Unit, FHQ, Abuja.

The new commissioner said the command under his watch would continue to uphold its statutory responsibility of protecting lives and property without prejudice to background, orientation, philosophy, religion or association.
