The portal opened from 6 p.m yesterday.

The chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the board headquarters in Ibadan, said the portal will be opened from Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

According to him, the initiative is part of the state government’s bid to reduce unemployment amongst its citizenry.

The portal, according to Adeniran, would register each candidate with his/her email, phone number and National Identification Number (NIN), among other requirements, with a view to providing them with jobs suitable for them, either as teachers or caregivers.

He explained that the application would be on for the next three weeks, from June 25, 2024-July 9, 2024, saying “The government of Oyo State wants to expand the job space in the basic education sub-sector and those who are interested in working as caregivers.

“Education is a major pillar of the Governor Seyi Makinde ‘s administration. We are going to have an inclusive government that will utilise valuable potentials that abound in the State and that’s why we are employing new primary school teachers.

“Applicants can channel their complaints, or challenges encountered in the process of the online application, through the support service, to the phone number and email provided on the website for free support services”, he assured.

He advised applicants to upload necessary documents, adding that the recruitment will be transparent, fair, credible and based on merit.

Adeniran said the application will involve three processes, including online application; CBT examination; and Oral interview.

The SUBEB boss advised applicants to be wary of scammers, adding that the only portal for the job application is the one provided above and equally said the application processes from beginning to the end are free of charge.

He added that no staff or non-staff is assigned to collect money from any applicant.

He, therefore, thanked Governor Makinde for his magnanimity, saying the board will not disappoint him.
