Oyo State government has expressed the readiness to empower over 12,000 youths between the ages of 18 and 35 years in developing website, digital marketing and entrepreneurship to curb youth restiveness.
This was revealed by the chairman, Oyo State Youth Development Agency, Prince Falana Adebowale during the unveiling of the Digital Skills Acquisition for youths in Oyo state.
He emphasized the importance of equipping youths with digital skills to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.
He said that it is necessary for the youths to be equipped with necessary skills to remain relevant, noting that as the world is changing daily, modern technology is revolutionising traditional solutions to real-life issues.
Falana expressed that the agency is collaborating with industry experts and leading players to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and aligned with current market demands and to provide participants with hands-on experience and practical knowledge.
The chairman acknowledged the support of partners and stakeholders in creating a robust framework for digital literacy and innovation.
He added that the ultimate target of the initiative is to build a future where Oyo state youths are leaders and pioneers in the digital economy.
Falana said that by working together with private organisations, the state can create an environment where every young person has the opportunity to succeed, urging young people to seize the opportunity and embrace the challenges that come with learning new skills.
Falana commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for the youth in the state and the opportunity given him (Falana) to serve the state.
