The tennis clinic/ tournament for children between the ages 5 to 15 put together by the IBK Tennis Academy was held on Saturday at the Shell Madeira Estate Tennis Court, Abuja, with parents relishing the experience enjoyed by their wards during the one-day event.
The event featured children from different schools in Abuja, while their parents and fans of the sport were on ground, giving their support to the children.
At the event, the organizer and head coach, Mr. Ibukun Phillips, promised to take the tournament to the next level by next year with sponsors like the Shell and other private organizations who have shown interest in sponsoring the event.
He said he decided to bring his talent in tennis to develop the children for international games.
One of the parents, Mrs. Claudine Mensah Awute, while expressing her joy, described the tennis tournaments as a very important tool to the physical development for the children’s growth.
Mr. Pierluigi Spano who is also a parent revealed that in Italy, tennis is a game that brings people together for development and appreciated the organisers for their efforts.
He promised participation of his children in the next event and also bringing sponsors to the academy.
Another parent, Mr. Domenico Barranca, urged parents, guardians to support the game of tennis tournament for their children’s growth and development.
