Leke Adeboye, son of General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Enoch Adeboye, has stirred up reactions online after sending a strong message to fellow men of God who previously mocked Arsenal F.C. before the club’s Premier League title victory.
The Arsenal supporter shared his excitement in a video on the X social media platform, which has since gone viral. He said he had moments of doubt after years of waiting for the trophy.
Leke said, “The enemy said that it will not happen, even me sef I partially doubted. I have burned jerseys, but now the making is here.”
The cleric later used the football celebration to share a message of encouragement, praying for people who have faced repeated disappointments in life.
“I want to pray for you, all those who have been disappointing and saying you will never be appointed, your cup will run over. All past failures will not be brought back against you.”
He further added that this triumph symbolises the victory of years of setbacks for Arsenal.
He added, “to all the pastors who have been using us as an example to preach, the devil is a liar”.
This exchange also shows how football rivalries continue to go beyond the pitch, shaping online exchanges among celebrities, fans and different communities.
