The presiding pastor of Royal Covenant Association (RCA), Ilorin, Kwara State, Theophilus Payimo, has stated that no pastor with divine calling will go into pastoral work for monetary gains.

Addressing newsmen in Ilorin to end the weeklong silver jubilee and 2025 annual church convention, the cleric added that whoever indulges in turning churches into a money-making venture would regret it later.

“Ministry is not to be a source of income. It is not a commercial venture. Ministry is freely received and should be freely given. Pastors should refuse the idea of moneymaking because if you (they) come to this work for money, you will mourn in this life and hereafter,” he cautioned.

Payimo urged clerics to abide by their callings to be able to reap bountifully later in life and beyond.

However, he stressed the reality of God in his ministry in the last 25 years, concluding that the creator has been faithful to him, his family, and the church.

Speaking on the anniversary theme, “I am that I am,” the cleric said, “The good Lord said to me specifically that I would be with you, and he has been with us. Virtually, all God’s promises to me have come to pass.

“We started in Amilengbe in a chalet given as a gift from where we were moving from chalet to chalet till we got here. The watchword therein is patience, perseverance, and endurance,” he preached.

Also, Mrs Bola Payimo advised the wives of God’s ministers to always support their husbands in their tasks.

She counselled parents to take full control of their children to prevent them from joining bad gangs.
