The coordinating minister for health and social welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, has praised Dr. Tunji Alausa for his outstanding contributions as the minister of state for health and social welfare.

Dr. Alausa has been redeployed to serve as the new minister of education, a move Prof. Pate described as a reward for exceptional performance.

Speaking during the handover ceremony on Tuesday in Abuja,  Prof. Pate reflected on Dr. Alausa’s accomplishments, describing him as a dedicated, capable, and collaborative leader whose efforts have significantly advanced the health sector.

“He is a man with capacity, commitment, and a team player,” Prof. Pate remarked, emphasising that Dr. Alausa’s dedication had been instrumental in laying transformative foundations for the healthcare system.

Prof. Pate also warmly welcomed the incoming minister of state for health and social welfare, Dr. Salako Adeboye, expressing confidence in his abilities. “Collectively, we shall build upon the milestones to revamp and advance the health sector in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Prof. Pate said.

In his final act at the ministry, Dr. Alausa issued appointment letters to ten newly selected medical directors for Federal Hospitals. The appointments also included directors for the new Federal Medical Centres in Misau, Bauchi State; Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State; and Epe, Lagos State.

Addressing the appointees, Dr. Alausa urged them to manage resources wisely and focus on impactful projects that could be swiftly completed.
