Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Imo State Command, Mr Chima Chukwunyere, has challenged police officers to carry out their responsibilities professionally.
Chukwunyere also called on the commissioner of police, CP Aboki Danjuma, to set up a mechanism to monitor the conduct of the men and officers and ensure that they adhere strictly with the rules of engagement.
He made the call during a courtesy visit to the state commissioner of police, CP Danjuma.
He stressed that PCRC has an enormous task and would continue to work tirelessly to ensure a smooth relationship between the citizenry and the police.
The PCRC chairman used the opportunity to congratulate the CP on his recent birthday and prayed that God would give him more wisdom for effectiveness and productivity.
According to him, to whom much is given, much is expected and appealed to the commissioner to fish out the bad eggs in the command and mete out the appropriate punishment to offenders.
Chukwunyere explained that public trust is paramount in policing and charged the police to carry out their assignment with due diligence and ultimate sense of responsibility.
