Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Siminalaye Fubara, was absent as six other governorship candidate signed an agreement to uphold peace and refrain from making defamatory statements about their fellow candidates, stakeholders and citizens, ahead and during the 2023 elections in the state.
Also absent at the Rivers Peace meeting were the governorship candidates of the Accord Party, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, National Rescue Movement (NRM), Sobomabo Jackrich, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA, Ugo Beke and six others.
Those who were in attendance include, Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dawari George of the Action Alliance (AA), Magnus Ngei Abe of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Victor Fingesi of the Action Democratic Party (ADP)), Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party (LP) and Joseph Obele of the African Action Congress (AAC). In their various speeches, the governorship candidates promised to avoid any action that will lead to L or physical attack on Rivers people throughout the whole electioneering processes.
