PDP Reps’ Candidate Flags Off 2km Road Project In Bauchi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Shira/Giade Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, Zaraddeen Aminu, has kicked off the construction of a two-kilometre road in the Zirami community in Giade local government area of Bauchi State.

Aminu said the project underscored his commitment to community development, even before assuming public office, and assured the residents that, if elected, he would execute more infrastructural projects across the constituency.

During the ceremony yesterday, the PDP candidate said the party had built a reputation for delivering developmental projects, describing infrastructure provision as one of its major strengths.

“What I want to emphasise to our people in Shira and Giade is that the PDP is known for projects like this. Any one familiar with the country’s developmental history knows that many landmark projects were executed under the PDP,” he said.

He described the road project as a significant intervention for the community and pledged to extend it beyond the initial 2 kilometres.

“I assure our people that if elected, we will continue to engage our governor-to-be on the need to extend this road beyond the current 2km. Our representation will not be driven by personal interests but by a genuine desire to improve the lives of our people through more impactful projects,” Aminu stated.

Commenting on the political atmosphere ahead of the elections, he said the PDP would campaign on its record of performance rather than empty promises.

“In this political season, the PDP is prepared to seek the people’s mandate based on visible achievements, not mere rhetoric. We will continue to execute projects in communities that require them across Bauchi State, and I can assure you that more interventions are on the way,” he added.

Explaining why the project commenced in Zirami, Aminu said, “We started here because charity begins at home. This is my hometown, and I believe I should lead by example.”

Also speaking, the PDP governorship candidate, Usman Sufi, commended Aminu for embarking on a multi-million-naira project despite not holding any public office.

According to him, the initiative demonstrated Aminu’s dedication to his people’s welfare and showed the level of service he would provide if elected.

“We do not have enough words to appreciate him. This is clear evidence that he is a true son of the soil. If he can undertake this project without occupying any government position, imagine what he will achieve when entrusted with public office,” Sufi said.

He urged residents of the constituency to support the PDP in the forthcoming elections, assuring them that the party remained committed to delivering the dividends of democracy.

Sufi also prayed for sustained peace in the constituency, Bauchi State and the country at large.
