The People’s Democratic Party PDP South East extraction Abuja chapter has called for the review of 25 February 2023 senatorial election in FCT accusing electoral officials of biases.
The group said it has evidence that electoral officials were compromised and election was not free and fair as routed by many.
The group in a Press briefing on Tuesday said the President Officers and other electoral officers were “obedients” who compromised the exercise.
The text read by the chairman Chief Obi Nwosu said Senator Philip Aduda in his years at the National Assembly has done very well to deserve reelection but was denied due to the ENDSARS bandwagon
He described FCT election scenario as resurgence of “ENDSARs bandwagon which suddenly resurfaced using Labour Party as a party to ventilate accumulated ‘aggression’ which the present government of APC mishandled and coupled with the confusion occasioned by the same faith ticket of the APC in the last general elections”
” We hereby state categorically, that Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda has done very well in the senate and has printed his name in on the sands of time.
“In view of the above, such a man couldn’t have actually, been denied re-election given that he has serious unfinished businesses which he has to get done for the people of FCT.
“We therefore, call for a review of that senatorial election since we believe that a lot of things went wrong on the 25th February,2023,” he said
The group further asked Senator to explore all legal means to return to the red chambers.
“We earnestly ask Senator Philip Aduda to explore all legal avenues that would answer the question. Does a sane society, change a result oriented leadership or representation to gamble with an unsure alternative? maybe ,our suspicion that a lot of things went wrong on the 25 February 2023 election would be justified by the right answer to the above question” he said
