Popular TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, known as Peller, has reacted to the controversy surrounding his unauthorised visit to the palace of the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II.

The Benin Traditional Council had earlier condemned the March 6 visit, describing it as a serious breach of palace protocol.

The incident has led to disciplinary actions within the palace, including the suspension of a chief and the prosecution of a palace staff member.

Speaking during a live broadcast, Peller denied responsibility, attributing the visit to instructions from his management.

He said his manager directed him to the palace and that he was unaware of any protocol issues at the time.

Peller maintained that his conduct during the visit was respectful, adding that the backlash appeared coordinated.

The council has, however, summoned him to appear before a committee of chiefs and submit a formal written apology, warning of possible legal consequences if he fails to comply.

In a related development, Peller also addressed a N395 million lawsuit filed against him by Lagos resident Osarobo Odigie.

The suit alleges defamation, cyber harassment, and invasion of privacy arising from a viral video recorded at a lounge in Lekki.

Reacting to the case, he appealed for leniency, stating that he lacks the financial capacity to meet the claims.

He added that he had previously apologised and described the legal action as an attempt to destabilise him financially.
