Speaking to journalists shortly after his election, Comrade Osifo expressed gratitude to all PENGASSAN members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to not disappoint to build on the foundation laid in the last years.

He said, “In the current National Working Committee NWC, we are people of integrity and sound intellects, who have been working hard. Of course, the work we have put together in the past three years are today noticeable everywhere by all union members. So I can say I am overwhelmed with joy, and I salute union members for their show of love and courage”.

Osifo said the union under him in the past three years  has been able to recover billions of naira owed workers, explaining that “we started advocacy when just about 700 barrels of oil was produced per day. But after our advocacy and consistent push there is a significant progress and we are now producing about 105 million barrels and above.  So these are the giant strides we have made and we know that there is still room for improvement”.
