People With Integrity Drive Institutional Reforms – Abia HoS

Abia State Head of Service (HoS), Benson Ojeikere, has asserted that only people with proven integrity can drive institutional reforms.

Ojeikere stated this in his opening remarks during the validation of the state’s anti-corruption strategy and implementation framework in Umuahia, the state capital.

Represented by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Lands, Ukeje Uche Ukpabi, he pledged the government’s support towards achieving the objectives of the strategy.

The HoS also reaffirmed the Alex Otti-led government’s commitment to building credible institutions capable of delivering transparent and accountable governance.

He thanked the participants for considering key implementation priorities, including corruption prevention, public engagement, and sustained awareness campaigns to promote ethical values in public institutions.

In their separate presentations, Ada Chidi Igbokwe and Onyukwu Onyukwu stressed stronger institutional systems and greater collaboration among government, civil society, and the media in combating corruption.

The participants adopted an  implementing roadmap outlining specific activities, responsibilities, timelines, and measurable indicators for evaluating progress as the government advances its reform agenda.

‎The event brought together government officials, civil society organisations, media representatives, and development partners to chart a clear path for implementing the strategy.
